Karin again elected sportwomen of the year in the city of Hoogstraten (20st time)

Every year, the city of Hoogstraten chooses the sportswoman of the year.

Karin achieved a very nice result at her 7th Olympics. Together with Jean-Michel Saive and Francois de la Forune, she now has the highest number of Olympic participations in Belgium. She is currently the only woman in Belgium to have participated in 7 Olympic Games.

At the Belgian Eventing Championships in Arville, Karin became Belgian Champion with her 19-year-old horse Fletcha van't Verahof. Fletcha van't Verahof is the horse with which Karin has been competing at the top for 11 years. 11 years ago in 2013 in Waregem, Karin and Fletcha won the Belgian title together for the first time. To win the Belgian title again with this horse 11 years later is quite unique.

It was the 20st time that Karin became sportswoman of the year in Hoogstraten. The previeus years are: 1988, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2023 and 2024.
In the year 1992 she recived "sports merit" with the Olympic team.
